Can graphic design change the way people shop? Feeling frustrated with the lack of information available to consumers wanting to know how sustainably or ethically a garment has been made, this project investigates what intervention could be placed within the clothing industry to facilitate more ethical buying. The outcome is a labelling system which rates garments on their ethical and sustainable credentials, with a letter from A – F. The projects deliverables included – the labels themselves, promotional postcards, an information booklet, data-visualisations, a tote bag and t-shirt.
